The interview went well! They don’t have openings for Dial-a-Ride, so I told them I would take the city bus position. I had my drug test right on the spot and tomorrow is my physical. Then, I have to pass the air-brakes test before they actually hire me. I already have my Class C with a P-CDL, so the only written test is the air-brakes. Cool! Then the classroom training will be @ $10 an hr., which is all I’m making now. Once I’m on the road, it will be $12, better. The only problem may be my hrs. They could start anywhere from 2am-midnight! She said most drivers have a split shift of anywhere from 1-3 hrs! I hate that, but if it gets too bad, I can always find yet another job. At least I’ll be leaving with a Class B with a P AND air-brakes! I have 2 study. Wish me luck!
So, I went by my old job and told my boss that I couldn’t work there anymore. He already knew why. He said that he was sorry to see me go, and wished me luck. That was nice of him. I didn’t see Mike, thank God. I did send him a picture back that belonged to him of a co-workers grand-baby. I just put a note in there that I was fine. Thanx 4 dropping off my stuff, and praying that God takes care of him, that I got a new position and take care. I left it at that. Short and sweet.
